PURPOSE:To accurately maintain a gap between a photosensitive drum and a developing sleeve and a gap between a regulating member and the developing sleeve and, at the same time, to unequivocally determine the balance between the gaps by forming a raised part in the peripheral edge of the spacer to make a doctor blade butt against the raised part, thereby fixing the spacer in position. CONSTITUTION:The disk-line spacer 2 is attached to each end of the developing sleeve 1 in the axial direction, and the peripheral edge of each spacer does not form a circle but a deformed circle having the raised part in at lest one part. The front end of the doctor blade 3 butts against the raised part, the other end of the blade 3 is fixed to a device casing 4 by means of a screw 9, and the doctor blade 3 is pressed to the spacers 2 while maintaining prescribed gap DG between the developing sleeve 1 and itself. The spacers 2 abut on a photoreceptor 5, the areas outside its image formation areas, and they are pressed to the photoreceptor 5 by means of a compression spring not illustrated, thus each spacer 2 and the photoreceptor 5 stably maintain prescribed gap PG between themselves. |
