The device provides electric connection of a rail of conductive material to electric cables (5). The device (1) includes a contact cap (3) to be connected to a cable (5). It also includes a contact block (2) to be placed on the top of a rail body (8). The contact cap (3) can be releasably connected to the contact block (2).The contact cap (2) and the contact block (2) may be releasably connected together by at least one screw (9,22). The inner edges (15,16) of the cap (3) may engage with edges (20,21) of the block (2). The block (2) may be soldered to the rail (8) and may be in the form of a truncated pyramid.
