A game machine accepts either coins of a 'chip' token having the same geometric size through a single entry point. The chip token has an embedded transponder circuit. The coin or chip token passes through a checking unit (4) and identified coins are received by a magazine (5). Chip tokens pass (9) into a read/write unit (7) where the value is determined and registered. False objects are reflected (8).
