Folding roof for motor vehicle

The folding roof has a piston cylinder unit to assist the opening closing movement. Both ends (4) of the piston rod (2) of the work cylinder (3) are fixed locally secured on the roof cover bearing (1). The cylinder (6) which is mounted movable on the piston rod is in active connection with a drive lever (8) which opens and closes the roof cover.The pressurised oil supply to the work cylinder (3) is through bores (9) in the stationary piston rod. The work cylinder is a double-acting cylinder.
