POLYMERISABLE COMPOSITON AND THE USE THEREOF

A composition comprising: (a) at least one olefinic monomer (A), (b) at least one polymer of at least one olefinic monomer, (c) an indicator dye to the basic structure of which an olefinic polymerisable group is covalently bonded directly or via a bridge group, (d) at least one at least diolefinic cross-linking agent, and (e) an effective amount of a polymerisation initiator. The polymerisates of the composition are suitable as membranes in optical sensors for the detection of ions and gases.
