Process for the alkylation of paraffins.

A new catalytic alkylation process is claimed, of at least one 3-6 C olefin by at least one isoparaffin in a reaction zone in the presence of a solid catalyst using a circulating catalytic bed co-currently with the charge from bottom to top of the reactor. Part of the catalyst is withdrawn and mixed with the reaction effluent. The catalyst is sepd. from the reaction effluent and the effluent is fractionated into an alkylate and iso-paraffin rich fraction. The catalyst is washed, in a wash zone, by part of the iso-paraffin-rich fraction, circulated counter-currently with the catalyst. The washed catalyst is directed back to the reaction zone. <IMAGE>
