Flexible call detail recording system

The billing method involves charging analysis and produces a collection of data from each cell within the exchange. A call data filtering software block is constructed which includes a filtering table for reaching a decision on whether or not to produce a call record, based on conditions associated with the call data. The administration operating the exchange is able to interface with the filtering software block and to modify it in accordance with specific selected conditions. A separate billing record is created for each call whose data satisfies the conditions specified in the table.
