907,739. Mordanted colloid layers especially for colour image production. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N.V. Aug. 4, 1960 [Aug. 4, 1959], No. 27036/60. Class 98 (2). Polyethylene imine-urea reaction products are incorporated into hydrophilic colloid layers optionally containing silver halide to prevent dyes from diffusing laterally from or out of such. Four preparations by heating the pair of reactants in aqueous solution and subsequently precipitating the products by addition of acetone are described, and then examples are directed to (1) production of a solution comprising gelatin, one of the products, saponine and formaldehyde, and coating this on to a subbed triacetale film to form an imhibition blank; (2) coating a somewhat similar solution on to an emulsion layer for photographic application of a sound track and then imbibition printing of three acid dye images thereon; (3) formation of a filter layer also with gelatin as the colloid; and (4) production of pigment paper in similar manner. Additionally use of the products in anti-halo and anti-stress layers and intermediate layers in multilayer films is described, and a review of prior mordanting procedures is provided. Specifications 654,266, 685,475, 755,478 and 830,189 are referred to. |
