A mounting device for supporting an object (50), such as a pocket telephone with or without case, in a vehicle, comprises a mounting plate (1) which is intended to be orientated generally vertically when the device is fitted and which has at its upper and its lower edges attachment flanges (2, 3) which define an angle with the mounting plate (1) and extend in mutually the same direction therefrom, so as to enable the mounting device to be secured to the dashboard of a vehicle through the medium of the ends (4, 5) of the legs. When the mounting device is fitted in position, the upper edge of the mounting plate (1) adjacent the upper flange (2) is generally horizontal. The upper leg (2) of the mounting device has adjacent the upper edge of the mounting plate (1) a vertically extending and through-penetrating slot-like opening which extends generally parallel with the upper edge of the mounting plate (1), wherein the slot-like opening (10) is configured to be able to receive from above the free leg (53) of a suspension clip (51-55) on the object (50). |
