In a domestic tap system, a filter element is held between the raw water chamber and pure water chamber. A section of the filter is normally inoperative, but for periodical flushing of the filter is connected to one or more separate water feeders supplying pure water. One section of the feeder is of jet-type construction ensuring that the flushing water is directed at increased speed. Atmos. air is admitted via the same feeder, as may be gaseous or liq. disinfectant. A valve normally prevents access of external air. -
