PURPOSE: To provide a shaft for a probe (for instance, esophageal probe) used for a body cavity (esophagus), which has no fear to be bitten by a patient during use, to be penetrated even if it is brought in contact with gastric acid, and to give pains to a patient. CONSTITUTION: This is a shaft 41 to be used with a probe invading into a body cavity, has a prescribed length, and is formed with a groove extended along the length of the shaft 41. The shaft is constituted including an outside electrical insulating outer cover 50 to completely surround an inside electrical conductive core 44 shaft and a film 48 placed along at least a substantial part of the length of the core between the core 44 and the core and an outer cover 50, and the film 48 is constituted including a cloth layer placed between two layers of flexible films. |
