摘要 PURPOSE: To improve the steering feeling without generating a rapid change in a posture of a vehicle body irrespective of the steering speed by increasing the damping force when the detected steering speed is increased, and continuously reducing the damping force at a specified ratio of reduction when the detected steering speed is decreased. CONSTITUTION: The outputs of a steering angle sensor 56 and a vehicle speed detecting means 58 are inputted in a control means 60, the steering speedωis obtained by a steering speed detecting means 62, and the timing at which the effective steering speed is peaked is obtained by a steering speed peak detecting means 64, and inputted in front and rear wheel steering effect calculating means 66, 68 to calculate the front and rear wheel steering effect. Here a front and rear wheel steering effect is increased until time when effective steering speed constitutes a peak. Each steering effect is continuously reduced according to the predetermined ratio of reduction when the effective steering speed reaches its peak, the corrective damping forces of the front and rear wheels are calculated by front and rear wheel damping force calculating means 78, 80 to control the damping forces of shock absorbers 16, 18. Thus, the damping forces are not rapidly changed even when the steering speed is small, and the steering feeling can be improved without rapid change in the posture of the vehicle body.
