PURPOSE:To prevent marring of an air bag even when a windshield is damaged at the time when the air bag works. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device 5 is arranged in an instrument panel 2. A lower part of an air bag 14' is fixed on an inflator 12 fixed in a lower part cover case 7 of the air bag device 5, and the air bag 14 is folded and stored in both upper and lower cover cases 6, 7. A protective sheet 17 is arranged along the side part of the air bag 14 positioned on the side of a windshield 3, and its lower end part is fixed on the outer periphery of the inflator 12. When the air bag 14 is expanded outward, an upper side part D1 of the upper part cover case 6 is driven to open, a protective sheet 17 is also developed following expansion of the air bag 14 and it is interposed and arranged between the expanded air bag 14 and the windshield 3. |
