PURPOSE:To obtain a preventing and therapeutic agent for bone resorption osteopathy such as malignant hypercalcemia, bone Paget disease or osteoporosis containing a glycyrrhetinic acid compound as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This preventing and therapeutic agent for osteopathy contains a glycyrrhetinic acid compound expressed by the formula (R is H or glycosyl) or 3-dehydroglycyrrhetinic acid (salt) as an active ingredient. The compound is administered in a daily dose of 0.1-10mg/kg, preferably 0.3-3.0mg/kg as the sum total of the active ingredient for an adult in 1-3 divided portions.
