PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing a high-purity jacket pipe having an optionally controlled wall thickness with a high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing a jacket pipe is to heat a prescribed raw material glass housed in an ampul (A) fixed with a fixing jig 33 with the first electric furnace 31, provide a glass melt (G), pass the melt through the central part 3 of the ampul (A), flow the resultant melt down into a lower end 2, heat and seal the central part 3 of the ampul (A) with a gas burner 34 after the glass melt (G) flows down into the lower part of the ampul (A), cut off the upper part, thereby enable an increase in the filling ratio of the glass melt (G) in the ampul (A), then remove even the second electric furnace 32, turn over the ampul together with the fixing jig 33, thereby turn over the ampul (A) from the vertical to a horizontal states while rotating the ampul (A) and prepare the jacket having a thick wall and the inside diameter controlled to a fine one. |
