PURPOSE:To obtain a cast ingot having good quality without contg. flux by combining a tundish and a water cooling jacket, solidifying molten metal without bringing it into direct contact with the air and casting it without using the flux. CONSTITUTION:The tundish 5 and the water cooling jacket 10 are combined and refractory cement 7 is poured into a gap between a graphite mold 12 and the tundish 5 to fix the tundish 5 to the graphite mold 12. Further, a runner 6 is arranged in a valve 2, and the valve 2 is vertically shifted by turning a vertically shifting handle 1 to open/close the runner 6. At the time of shifting the valve 2 upward, the runner 6 is opened, and since the molten metal A flows toward the molten metal B through the runner 6 and solidified without coming into contact with the air, the cast ingot 9 can be produced without adding the flux and the quality of the cast ingot is improved. |
