PURPOSE:To produce a reducing gas having high reducing ability and to suppress generation of soot during production of the reducing gas, by controlling an operation condition so as to make a theoretical temperature of a partial combustion reaction above a specific value in producing the reducing gas by utilizing a partial combustion reaction of a raw material gas containing CmHn and an O2 gas. CONSTITUTION:In producing a reducing gas by a partial combustion reaction a raw material gas containing one or more CmHn gases and an O2 gas, the reaction is controlled so as to satisfy the following conditions. Namely, kinds of CmHn gases in the raw material gas and the blending ratio of the gases are regulated and/or the purity of the O2 gas is adjusted and/or the amount of the O2 gas added to the raw material gas is controlled and/or the preheating temperature of the raw material gas is regulated and/or the preheating temperature of the O2 gas is adjusted so as to make a theoretical temperature T0 of a partial combustion reaction defined by the formula T0=(H+Q)/(C.V) [H: reaction heat of the partial combustion reaction, Q: total of sensible heat of the raw material gas and the O2 gas, Cp: specific heat of a formed gas, V: the amount of the formed gas] >=1,300 deg.C. |
