PURPOSE:To obtain an active carbon additive for rice cookers which is formed by capsulating active carbon particles into a bag consisting of a transmissive sheet and is used to improve the taste of cooked rice right after cooking or to remove the smells, etc., generated at the time of cooking or when the cooked rice is preserved for a long period of time after cooking. CONSTITUTION:This active carbon additive for rice cookers is formed by capsulating the active carbon particles 5 into the bag 4 consisting of the transmissive sheet. While the sizes of the active carbon particles are not particularly limited, the particles of the grain sizes small to some extent, for example, about 10 to 30 meshes are more preferable. Any transmissive sheets are widely usable, insofar as these sheets are made of the materials allowing permeation of water and steam. Non-woven fabrics, woven fabrics, paper, etc., are usable as the transmissive sheet. However, particles are generated in the active carbon by friction between the particles with each other during use in some cases and the sheet is required to prohibit the transmission of the extremely small particles and is further required not to contain the components which elute when boilied. The sheet including the non-woven fabric consisting of ultra-fine fibers, for example, melt blow fibers, of a fiber diameter of about <=0.1 denier is more preferable as the transmissive sheet. |
