PURPOSE:To allow smooth and easy operation for insertion into a blood vessel by forming four or more projections, or four or more rows of screw threads on the internal surface of a flange, while forming four or more thread grooves, or four or more projections on an inner tube hub for engagement with the projections or thread grooves on the internal surface of the flange. CONSTITUTION:An introducer 1 is provided with a flange 2 at the end of a dilater hub 2 and four or more rows of projections 22 are formed on the internal surface of the flange 2. Also, four or more rows of thread grooves 31 are formed on the external surface of the end of a sheath hub 3. A dilater 23 is inserted into the sheath hub 3 and rotated by an approximately 1/4 turn after the collision of a flange section 21 with the end of a sheath hub 21, thereby coupling a dilater section to a sheath section. As a result, the dilater section and the sheath section become free from axial displacement. Also, as the four rows of projections on the dilater section and the four rows of grooves on the sheath section are coupled to one another, no relative rotation occurs between the dilater section and the sheath section. Furthermore, axial displacement and relative rotation do not occur at the time of actual insertion in a blood vessel, thereby allowing smooth and easy operation for insertion. |
