PURPOSE:To prevent an ink ribbon fusion breakage at a time of a lowering of a driving voltage of an electric source battery, by feeding only a specific quantity of a tape, after stopping a character printing when the driving voltage of the battery is at most a specific voltage. CONSTITUTION:A character printing is stopped, after judging whether a driving voltage of an electric source battery E is under a specific voltage little higher than a lowest voltage wherein only a tape feeding motor 45 can be driven singly, or not, at a time of a maximum load of a printing action in which a printing of a character and a tape feeding are executed at the same time. Hence, the character printing can be stopped, by making a printing of a deformed character compressed to a direction of a feeding of a tape, as less as possible, as a tape feeding quantity is made to decrease by a decrease which is equal to or under a specific voltage of the driving voltage. Besides, a heat generation caused by a heat generating element of a thermal head 15 does not occur, and a fusion and a breakage of a printing ribbon can be prevented, even in a case wherein a feeding quantity of a printing ribbon, fed in synchronism with this tape feeding and in accompaniment with a decrease of the tape feeding quantity, becomes less. |
