A combination of a tubular rechargeable flashlight (20) and a charging unit (40) therefor, wherein the flashlight (20) has a tubular barrel housing a rechargeable battery assembly (100) with positive and negative contacts (102, 104) at a forward end thereof, and an enlarged head portion in which charging contacts (34, 36) of the flashlight are located and in which is housed electrical conductors for connecting the charging contacts (34, 36) with a pair of connectors (106, 108) extending rearwardly within the tubular barrel (26) from the enlarged head portion to connect with the respective battery contacts (102, 104), and wherein the charging unit (40) comprises jaws (46) for holding the enlarged head portion of the flashlight. <IMAGE> |
