<p>The endoprosthesis, designed especially for fitting into a blood vessel, incorporates a tie (4) at one end which can be adjusted to vary the diameter of that end. The tie is made from a ligature filament forming a loop with two free ends (5, 6) which extend for some distance from the endoprosthesis. The endoprosthesis can be made with an adjustable loop at each end and it can be contained inside a sleeve (10) with a guide (9) to position it in the blood vessel. The guide can be hollow and have the free ends of a loop passing through it, or it can be in the form of an inflatable balloon. <IMAGE></p> |
