The invention relates to an ambient air purifier with a filter assembly comrising a pre-filter (5) and a downstream fine filter (2), a motor driven blower (3) by means of which the ambient air to be filtered is conveyed through the filter assembly and a cleaning device for the pre-filter (5) having a suction nozzle locally (10) covering the outer surface (9) of the pre-filter, in which the outer surface (9) of the pre-filter (5) can be moved in relation to the suction nozzle taking in air from the inside of the filter. The suction nozzle (6) may be connected to an external vacuum device, e.g. a vacuum cleaner, so that the pre-filter can be easily cleaned. The suction nozzle locally covering the outer surface of the pre-filter is to be movable parallel to said surface. The pre-filter is rotatable.
