Extruded polymer mono- or multi-layer piping with a barrier action (I) has at least one layer of polyphenylene sulphide (PPS). (I) also has protective layers and contains no coupling agents, the PPS inner layer being activated by corona treatment to make it compatible with adjacent layers. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), by extruding the barrier layer, corona-treating the inner layer and extruding the protective layer with a suitable sheathing die, opt. with further corona treatments prior to extruding any additional layers. Also claimed is multilayer piping with a barrier action, obtd. by this process. |
