<p>The proposed stent for expanding and/or holding open a hollow organ consists of filaments (11) which are interwoven to form a tubular self-expanding net. In the collapsed state the stent (10) is stretched in the axial direction and in its expanded state it is shortened in the same direction. The filaments (11) are rectangular in cross section and the intersection nodes (12) are rigidly joined at the free extremities (14, 15).</p> |
