Electronic billiards or football game

The billiards or football game has a rectangular casing which can be supported horizontally on a table surface, with goal apertures in the sidewalls at either end, or billiard pockets at each corner and halfway along each longitudinal sidewall. A magnetic ball is displaced across the playing surface via a linear motor drive, providing a rolling movement in a selected direction. Pref. the linear motor drive uses a number of cylindrical cores (2), wound with respective current coils (1), positioned beneath the playing surface, so that eddy currents are induced in the magnetic ball, with continuous variation of the magnetic field to obtain the required ball movement.
