In a process for cooling and granulating extruded plastic strands (4), emerging from an extrusion die (3), the strands (4) are fed into a channel (1) through which cooling water flows. The channel (1) is vibrated and guides the strands (4) to a granulator (6). Claimed process equipment includes a take-off channel (1) with cooling fluid supply and a granulator (6). The channel (1) is connected to a vibrator (9).
