A method is provided for preparing homochiral maleimide intermediates of the structure <CHEM> wherein R<7>, R<8> and R<9> are as defined herein by reacting a homochiral amine of the structure <CHEM> with maleic anhydride and a silylating agent. The maleimide intermediate is used in the enantioselective preparation of thromboxane A2 receptor antagonists. |
