Silver-nickel composite material for electrical contacts and electrodes, especially for spark plug electrodes. In order to avoid chemical attack on the nickel component, the silver component consists of an oxygen-impermeable silver alloy and the nickel component consists of nickel or a nickel alloy. As a result, contacts and electrodes can be manufactured which have a long service life.
