<p>The invention relates to a new use of a known chemical compound as a therapeutic agent having antiarrhythmic properties, the ceruloplasmin (a copper protein). More particularly, the Applicants have noted that ceruloplasmin generates antiarrhythmic effects during reperfusion in the ischemic heart. The invention also relates to a method for either preventing or treating heart arrhythmias.</p> |
