New method for the treatment of pulp originating from the extraction of olive oil The method consists of subjecting the pulp 1 to a stage of separation 2 between the pips 3 and the fines 4, where fines means the mixture of pulp and water from the plant material, a process which is carried out by mechanical means, the fines subsequently being subjected to the action of an ecological settler 12, in which separation takes place also by mechanical means between the oil 13 and the oil-free residual fines 14 which can be used as animal feed or fertilizer, while the pips 3, which can in principle be impregnated with pulp, are subjected to the action of an air cleaner 5 which separates the pulp 7 from the pips 10, the latter being used as fuel while the pulp 7 and the fines 14 from the other branch of the process can be used as animal feed or fertilizer. In this way a virgin oil 13 of a high level of quality is obtained, because it is additive-free and has suffered little thermal degradation. <IMAGE>
