Process in which the black water from the settling cyclone is injected, after the addition of a flocculent, into the inside of a leaktight cone 7 provided in the inside of a settling tank 3, which acts as a filter with the actual material suspended in the black water retained 8, clean water emerging via the top of the latter and accumulating in the settling tank 3, from the inside of which it emerges via an overflow 9 towards the tanks 11 from where it supplies the plant, whilst the sludges which have accumulated in the inside of the filtering cone overflow via apertures in the top of the latter 12, being deposited in the bottom of the settling tank 13 from which they are withdrawn by means of a pipe 15 in order to be tipped into settling pools 16. <IMAGE>
