Fitting system for detachably joining two components, in particular for detachably joining a covering profile to a sill member of a casing, comprises a first plate-like, substantially U-shaped element which can be attached to a first component and has two essentially parallel legs, that side face of each leg which faces the other leg forming an angle α with the plane which is perpendicular to the principal plane of the first element and parallel to the longitudinal centre line of the U-shaped element, so that the distance between the legs in the direction of thickness of the first element increases from the side which in the fitted state faces away from the first component to the side facing the first component, at least one of the two side faces facing one another being at least partially provided with a set of teeth, and a second plate-like element which can be fastened to a second component and fits between the legs of the first element, said second element having at least one side face which, in the fitted state, lies against the toothed side face of a leg of the first element and is provided with a set of teeth in such a way that the sets of teeth cooperate with one another so as to keep the two elements in position with respect to one another in the direction of the centre line of the first element.
