A battery container (10, figure 2) for use with at least one battery pack 20 having two terminals 21, 22 on one side, comprises a casing (11) having on its outer side two terminals (15) and on its inner side two contacts 24, 25 electrically connected to respective casing terminals (15) and arranged for electrical contact with respective battery terminals when the battery packs 20 are placed inside the casing (11) in any one of at least two possible orientations. An adaptor plate (31, figure 7) supporting two further contacts (36, 37) can be placed as a bridge between the casing contacts 24, 25 and the battery terminals 21, 22. |
