The hopper comprises a region intended for storing wastes and for feeding machines for processing or transferring said wastes. This type of hopper makes it possible to obtain a large capacity by the installation being given an exaggerated height and, by virtue of the large width of its loading mouth, it allows, over it, the emptying of various vehicles simultaneously. The hopper overall is formed by a hopper, a thrust plate, a plate-guide system, an inspection window and an electrical control and monitoring panel. Operation may be manual or automatic by means of a switch for selecting two positions located on the control panel. <IMAGE>
