PURPOSE:To enable the work for containing paper sheets in a second paper sheet holding part accurately and speedily in a paper feeding device of the type having a first paper sheet holding part and the second paper sheet holding part holding paper sheets having the same size in the same direction and carrying a batch of the sheets contained in the second paper sheet holding part to the first paper sheet holding part. CONSTITUTION:On a paper retaining member 30 to retain a rear end of paper sheets contained in a first paper sheet holding part 6 a projection 30c is formed in a manner to project towards a lateral end of paper sheets contained in a second paper sheet holding part 7 when a paper sheet retaining member 30 is positioned at the retaining position. In containing paper sheets in the second paper sheet holding part 7, the projection is used as the reference of the holding position. |
