PURPOSE: To provide a resource management system consisting of a plurality of servers used by single or a plurality of personal computers(PC). CONSTITUTION: The server used by a PC is provided with a means storing a single or a plurality of profiles explaining in details the content of a single or a plurality of resources by each PC. Furthermore, since the system is provided with a means to retrieve a profile stored in all servers in the system by the user of each PC, the user of each PC retrieves the content of all resources in the system. Furthermore, the system is provided with a means down-loading a resource possible for down-load from other server to the user of the server and a means starting a program to display the down-loaded resource in an intended form after down-loading.
