PURPOSE: To provide a tool for inspecting required spacing between adjacent fingers of a spud of a control rod drive part for a nuclear reactor. CONSTITUTION: A tool, that is a spud finger gage 100 is a through stop gage which has a strict allowable tolerance. The gage has two cylindrical pins 104, 106 of different diameter. The pin 104 has diameter smaller than a desired space between adjacent fingers of a spud and the other pin 106 has diameter larger than a required spacing between the adjacent fingers of the spud. The spacing is judged as correct when a through pin passes through the spacing and a stop pin does not pass through the spacing.
