PURPOSE:To control a sound source position to a virtually formed listener by controlling respective filter outputs for left and right channels at the sound image positions corresponding based on position information with the listener as a center while using respective adders. CONSTITUTION:Concerning a filter 1, a direction in a horizontal plane is divided into eight blocks with the listener as a center, and sound source signals are corrected corresponding to filter characteristics decided separately on the right and left sides so as to form sound images at the respective blocks. Therefore, the characteristics of filters la and lb for L and R channels to output the left and right sound signals of two channel stereos are decided by multiplication coefficients. The respective filter characteristics are decided so as to form sound images for FIR0 for L and R in the direction of 0 deg., for FIR1 in the direction of 45' and FIR2 to FIR7 similarly for respective correspondent directions. On the other hand, a multiplier 2 multiplies a prescribed coefficient based on direction information to respective FIR outputs, the output of the multiplier 2 for L and R is added to this result by multipliers 3 and 4, and the results are outputted as left and right sound signals. Thus, the sound image can be moved in the direction of the virtually formed sound source position. |
