PURPOSE:To provide a camera which can be miniaturized by effectively utilizing space around a focusing optical system. CONSTITUTION:This camera is equipped with the focusing optical system 23 movably provided in an optical axis direction to perform focusing, an actuator 5 generating driving force for moving the optical system 23, a transmitting mechanism 6 transmitting the driving force of the actuator 5 to the optical system 23 side, and a driving amount detecting mechanism detecting a value related to the driving amount of the optical system 23 by the actuator 5; and in the camera, the actuator 5, the transmitting mechanism 6 and the driving amount detecting mechanism are arranged at positions on the outer periphery of the optical system 23 and on the side of the long side 100 of the aperture 10 of the camera. |
