PURPOSE:To provide a high level control with an extremely simple and inexpensive structure by varying a clearance between a small diameter inexpensive plate and a large diameter plate to vary a spring constant in an air spring device to obtain comfortable riding at all times according to the road surface conditions. CONSTITUTION:When a diaphragm 11 is telescoped during traveling, a pressure in a first pressure chamber 21 or a second pressure chamber 22 is increased more than the other pressures, and the position of a small diameter plate 4 or a large diameter plate 5 is varied up or down due to pressure difference. By this, a clearance 6 between the both prates 4 and 5 is varied to vary drawing effect, and thus the overall spring constant and damping force of an air spring device 1 are adjusted. For example, during the traveling on a bad road, the velocity of air flowing from a diaphragm chamber 11c to a cylinder chamber 3g or the first pressure chamber 21 is too high. Thus the pressure in the pressure chamber 21 or 22 is not increased by throttling effect of the orifices 3b and 3g and a spring constant becomes smaller so as to provide soft riding comfort. |
