PRODUCTION OF MASK FILM FOR FORMATION OF EMBOSSED PLATE

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a mask film for formation of an embossed plate by using a molding technique with a silicone resin to form a silicone molded film having a colored projection part corresponding to the depth of the recessed part of the original surface and then photographing the film to obtain a mask film. CONSTITUTION:Tracheas in grains on the surface of a natural wood plate are filled with a colored silicone resin. Then a transparent silicone resin is applied on the whole surface including the colored silicone resin surface and hardened to make a silicone resin film comprising integrally the colored silicone resin and the transparent silicone resin. This silicone resin film is released from the natural wood plate to obtain a silicone molded film 2 in which a colored projection part 23 with various color density is formed. This silicone molded film 2 is used as a master plate to execute photographing. Through this photographing process and the succeeding developing process, a mask film 3 is produced. By this method, such a density distribution in the shadow part 31 of the trachea as shown in the figure (b) is obtd. for both of the longitudinal and transverse directions of the grains.
