PURPOSE:To provide a graph generating device for generating a graph having an omitted section at the time of judging its necessity by automatically judging the necessity of a graph output omitting section in inputted graphing data. CONSTITUTION:Data (graphing data) to be a base of a graph output are inputted from an input part 1. An omitting section judging means 5 divides a display range obtained based upon a maximum value found from respective graphing data and a minimum value for graph display into n sections, finds out the frequency distribution of each graph data, checks whether m (m<n) or more sections having zero frequency are continued or not, and when (m) or more sections concerned are continued, the necessity of omission of graph output is judged. When an omission section is necessary, a section omitting information generating means 6 generates a minimum scale value for graph display, a lower limit scale value in an omitting section, an upper limit scale value in the omitting section, a maximum scale value, and an output scale width value and a data transforming means 7 and a graph image generating means 8 are successively executed to generate a graph image. When the omission of a section is unnecessary, the means 8 is executed after the execution of the means 5. |
