摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a cycloolefin in high selectivity and efficiency by partially hydrogenating a monocyclic hydrocarbon in the presence of a catalyst produced by supporting ruthenium on a zirconia-modified silica carrier. CONSTITUTION:A monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. benzene) is partially hydrogenated preferably at 100-220 deg.C under hydrogen pressure of 0.5-10MPa in the presence of water and a catalyst produced by supporting ruthenium on a silica carrier modified with zirconia. The zirconia-modified silica carrier is preferably produced by supporting 0.5-10wt.% of zirconia on spherical silica e.g. by impregnation supporting method and drying and baking the product. The specific surface area of the spherical silica is 5-150m<2>/g and the volume ratio of the pores of 350-1,500Angstrom to the pores of 75-150,000Angstrom is >=55%. The maximum intensity of the relative intensity of ruthenium in the catalyst is preferably <=2.5 measured by a line analysis by an X-ray analyzer.
