PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic macromolecule for medical materials which is excellent as medical materials of medical utensils, artificial organs, etc., and has excellent adaptability to blood by respectively specifying the contents of a phosphorylcholine group and lactam monomer unit and/or N-alkyl group. CONSTITUTION:The content of the phosphorylcholine group is specified to 5 to 90mol% and the content of the monomer unit having the lactam group and/or N-alkyl (meth)acrylamide unit is specified to 0.1 to 70mol% and both are dissolved in methanol. The inside of a reaction vessel is then sufficiently substituted with gaseous argon. This reaction vessel is immersed for 24 hours in a hot bath of 60 deg.C, by which a polymn. reaction is effected. The polymer soln. is poured into a chloroform after cooling and is allowed to settle. Filtration thereof is repeated twice and finally, the polymer is allowed to settle in an ethyl ether. The precipitate of the polymer is filtered and is then vacuum dried, by which the synthetic macromolecule for the medical materials is obtd. This material has the excellent adaptability to blood and hardly generates thrombosis in spite of contact with the blood. |
