The screening plate (o) is used to block the earth's radiation and radiation resulting from underground water tracts, via a mirror (3), positioned with its mirrored surface facing downwards. The mirror maybe sandwiched between 2 wood cover plates (1, 4), with sawdust or wood chips between the top cover plate (1) and the mirror, both the cover plates held together by a peripheral frame. The screening plate may be supported in an outer frame at an angle of less than 87 degrees to the horizontal, e.g. at 45 degrees to the horizontal.
