To control the width of wound warps, at a warping machine, the difference (D) is registered between the warp bandwidth (BM) at the measurement point and at the take-up point (BA). The difference is used to correct the actual value at the control unit. Also claimed is an assembly with a computer at the control unit to compute the difference between the measurement (BM) and take-up (BA) points through the known warp band variations between the warping reed (2) and the measurement point. The measured actual value can be corrected continuously by the computed difference.
