PURPOSE:To improve the surge resistance by adding and mixing an organic metal of an oxide which constitutes a subcomponent to a powder of ZnO and baking a molding of this mixture. CONSTITUTION:Aluminium triisopropoxide is mixed with ZnO, Bi2O3, MnCO3, CO2O3 and Sb2O3 at specified mix ratios to prepare a raw material for a varistor, a zinc borosilicate glass is added to ceramic components of this material varistor, mixed and stirred in an organic solvent. An organic binder is added and mixed to prepare a slurry. It is molded and the solvent is evaporated to form a ceramic green sheet la. Layers lb made by printing a conductive paste of Ag-Pd to form inner electrodes 2 are laminated on the sheet 1a and hot pressed to form a laminate. It is cut into chips of specified size, the chip is baked at specified temp. and outer electrodes 4 are formed on the exposed end faces of the inner electrodes of the chip. |
