PURPOSE:To enable the printing ink jet recording with excellent quality of printing and high speed by forming an image element with smaller number than those of adhered drops necessary for obtaining this gradation when an arbitrary gradation is obtd. CONSTITUTION:A main controller 112 controls ejection of an ink, rotation of a carriage motor 121 and rotation of a paper carrying motor 122 respectively through a driver 119 and a paper carrying motor driver 120. Characters, images, etc., corresponding to image data are recorded on a recording paper. Here, e.g. a command for printing by a high speed printing (draft) mode is transmitted to a main controller 112 from a host computor 111. There exist two kinds of commands such as a draft mode #1 and a draft mode #2 in the command for printing by this high speed printing mode and as the printing speed, printing is performed at the max. speed by the draft mode #1. |
