PURPOSE:To select waveform signals corresponding to musical sound parameters among the number of waveform signals different for every timbre with a simple constitution and to perform the weighting and synthesis of two selected waveforms signals with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:To selectively read a waveform signal corresponding to the value of a musical sound parameter consisting of plural bits among plural waveform signals corresponding to one timbre stored in memories 12 and 13, high-order bits as many as the waveform signals of a specified timbre are taken out of the bits of the parameter and address information indicating the storage area of the waveform signal to be read out is generated corresponding to the taken-out high-order bits. The waveform signal stored in the storage area specified with the address information is read out to generate a musical sound waveform. The bits are taken out by using a bit shift circuit 28. Further, two waveform signals are read out of the memories 12 and 13 and the weighting and synthesis are performed by using a weighting coefficient corresponding to the low-order bits of the bit-shifted parameter. |
